The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

May 1988, Wollongong (Australia). Operates under the auspices of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Aims

As an official, Asia-wide network of people and institutions involved in research and training support for national science and technology policy and management: develop support programmes to assist development of science and technology management information systems; foster the linking of research with social and economic applications; promote human resource development.

Programme themes: Planning and integration of science and technology policy (STP) with economic development; Establishment of science and technology management information systems; Application and research and development management; Conceptual resource development and regional information exchange in STP. Major activities: establishing, developing and strengthening links; preparing resource material; formulating projects for international agencies; consultancy and limited training and research activities; conferences and workshops.
