The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Aims
Provide a focus for commercial views on information technology security across the European Union and internationally; represent the interests of users of information systems and services so as present coherent and consistent opinions and requirements, taking note of the views of suppliers, standards organizations and other relevant bodies and of emerging European Commission legislation; seek to ensure that Community programmes, tasks and legislation in the field reflect the needs of the commercial world for usable, affordable and practical solutions; identify and execute specific tasks which contribute to the improved security of commercial information and systems within the European Union.
