History

Established within the framework of A-XA3375 - United Nations (UN). Replaces the 9 centres of E-XE3516 - United Nations Information Centres (UNICs) in the countries of the European Union which closed, 31 Dec 2003, following a decision by the UN General Assembly at its 58th session.

Aims

Communicate the values, history and mandate of the United Nations and its actions in building a more peaceful, fair and sustainable world; represent the UN’s Department of Global Communications in Western Europe and engage with partners, civil society, media, public institutions, the academic community, the private sector, think tanks and the creative community; provide communication support to United Nations agencies located in Brussels and work together with the European Union institutions.
