Founded June 1976, San Diego CA (USA), as World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA) -- Fédération mondiale des associations de direction de personnel -- Federación Mundial de Asociaciones de Dirección de Personal -- Weltverband der Vereinigungen für Personalführung, by 3 regional personnel organizations - European Association for People Management (EAPM), Federación Interamericana de Asociaciones de Gestión Humana (FIDAGH), and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) - at annual conference of the latter. Has also been referred to as: Federación Mundial de Asociaciones de Administración de Personal. Present name adopted, Sep 2008. Registered in Geneva (Switzerland) in accordance with the Swiss Civil Code.

Aims

Aid the development and improve the effectiveness of professional people management all over the world; demonstrate the importance of the HR role in all employing organizations, both public and private.
