Founded as International Federation of Roller-Skating – Fédération internationale de patinage à roulettes (FIPR). Subsequently changed title to International Roller Skating Federation – Fédération internationale de roller-skating – Federación Internacional de Patinaje sobre Ruedas and later International Roller Sports Federation – Fédération internationale de roller sports (FIRS). Current title adopted 2017, when International Skateboarding Federation (ISF) merged into the organization.
