1945, Arusha (Tanganyika), when a team was sent to East Africa by the British Colonial Office to work on controlling disease vectors by insecticides. Administered by Tanganyika Government up to 1962, it was incorporated in Research Services of East African Common Services Organization, subsequently East African Community (EAC) -- Communauté de l'Afrique orientale (CAO). Also known as East African Tropical Pesticides Research Institute. No activity reported since dissolving of EAC.
