Subsequently referred to as European Observatory of Violence in Schools (EOVS) -- Observatoire européen de la violence scolaire (OEVS) -- Observatorio Europeo de la Violencia Escolar. Current title adopted to reflect worldwide nature of the organization. Registered in accordance with French law.
Collect, promote and disseminate around the world inter-disciplinary studies of the phenomenon of violence in the school environment; conduct scientific evaluation of the studies and analyses published on the subject; conduct scientific evaluation of public programmes and policies to combat this phenomenon; make an ongoing assessment of violence in the school environment around the world; draw up and disseminate around the world concrete proposals for action in the field based on the results of scientific studies; assist in the training of teachers and professionals; provide training in research on violence in the school environment and support young researchers in the field.
