Assist developing countries in their efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation; foster conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stock (REDD+) by providing value to standing forests.

Mechanisms (2): Readiness Mechanism - technical assistance and capacity building for REDD; Carbon Finance Mechanism - provides financing from the Carbon Fund, through which pilot incentive programs for REDD based on a system of compensated reductions are implemented.
