History
Jun 1964, London (UK), as Scientific Committee on Water Research, by decision of Executive Committee of the H-XA1752 - International Council for Science (ICSU). In 1976 became a joint Coordinating Committee, together with A-XA3353 - Union internationale des associations et organismes scientifiques et techniques (UATI), being also referred to as Joint ICSU-UATI Coordinating Committee on Water Research. Dissolved, 1994.
Aims
Promote contacts between international non-governmental water-oriented organizations so that their activities pertaining to water research are mutually complementary and for the common benefit of the organizations and people they ultimately concern; serve as a source of advice to international intergovernmental organizations.
