The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Previously also referred to as European Cooperation Network on Technology Transfer in its function as a network within Regions and Cities of Europe (RECITE Programme). Ceased to exist.


Encourage regional economic development through promotion of intra-regional cooperation among the various economic agents of the partner European regions, and inter-regional economic cooperation among partner regions. Enable SMEs in partner regions to meet increasing competition and internationalization in the market for advanced technologies by: monitoring markets more efficiently; responding more rapidly to market changes; achieving greater production flexibility; becoming more cost-efficient; developing more innovative, market-tailored technology products.

(1) Establishment and utilization of an electronic communication system for exchange of information and data. (2) Facilitation of targeted search for and cooperation with partner firms in other regions for development, production and marketing of technology-based products. (3) Facilitation of targeted search for and exchange with firms from other regions with specific knowledge and practical experience. (4) Promotion of international vertical technology transfer through database-supported information system on scientific research and development and on advanced technologies available from universities, research laboratories and firms in partner regions. Expected results: communication and exchange on the basis of common format and system; common inventory of applied research and technology available at educational and research institutes and in companies.
