title:ECER Conference comes to Tampere, Finland in 2026

The annual European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) will be held in Tampere in August 2026. The event will gather some 2,500 international researchers and experts to discuss education during a time of multi-crisis.

The ECER Conference is the largest education research conference in Europe, and it will be held in Tampere on 17-21 August 2026. The conference will be arranged by the European Educational Research Association EERA together with Tampere University’s Faculty of Education and Culture (EDU) and the City of Tampere.

UIA's scientific approach and activities – research, consultation, training and networking opportunities – support global civil society actors and facilitate collaboration and exchange among them. UIA promotes public awareness of the work of international associations and represents their collective views on a global platform.

The UIA was founded in 1907 by Nobel Peace Prize winner Henri La Fontaine, and father of information science Paul Otlet, in order to support the emerging civil society. By bringing together all international associations in a concerted effort, they wanted to “assess and describe the degree of internationalism prevailing throughout the world”.

title:Espoo, Finland to host the World Conference on Floating Solutions in 2025

The 5th World Conference on Floating Solutions (WCFS 2025) will take place in Espoo, Finland from 1st to 3rd September 2025.

The conference will be hosted by Bluet Floating Solutions, a Finnish company and a global leader in innovative floating construction. The event is organised in collaboration with the Society of Floating Solutions, as well as a team of educational, academic and research institutes, such as Finnish state-owned research institution VTT and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. The conference will take place at conference hotel Hanaholmen.
