In July 2026, the first session of the UIA Academic Forum took place in Lisbon, in cooperation with the 17th International Conference of the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR). Prof. Elizabeth Bloodgood (Concordia University) and Prof. Daniel Laqua (Northumbria University) were the organizers of the event; the programme is available below.

This first took place on Monday 13 July and Tuesday 14 July 2026 at the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa - ISCTE, Avenida das Forças Armadas, 1649-026 Lisbon, Portugal, in association with the Seventeenth International Conference of the International Society for the Third Sector ISTR which will be held from 14 to 17 July.
