Increase understanding and individual and collective knowledge of the built heritage of the Commonwealth between its peoples and institutions; establish a register of Commonwealth heritage at risk and priorities for action; advance research, education and scholarship of the architectural, designed landscape and engineering heritage of the Commonwealth; encourage conservation of buildings and places of heritage interest; facilitate heritage conservation.
