Established 22 Feb 2012, Beijing (China), under Agreement between Government of China and B-XB3383 - UNESCO. A UNESCO Category II Centre. Registered in accordance with Chinese law.

Aims

Promote the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and contribute to its implementation in the Asia-Pacific Region; increase the participation of communities, groups and individuals in Safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in the region; enhance the capacity of Asia-Pacific Member States of UNESCO in safeguarding ICH, particularly by strengthening the capacities of concerned personnel; foster regional and international cooperation for safeguarding ICH.
