2002, as a regional network of F-XF6819 - International Model Forest Network (IMFN) and based at E-XF4511 - Tropical Agriculture Research and Higher Education Center. Original title: Latin America and Caribbean Model Forest Network (LAC-Net). Previously also referred to in French as: Réseau ibéro-américain de Fôrets Modèles (RIAFM). Current title adopted when Spain joined, 2007.
Promote cooperation among Model Forests, institutions, organizations and countries to contribute to sustainable territorial management of the forest landscape, which contributes to sustainable human development.
