Founded Jun 2006, in reaction to the absence of any then-existing integrated and multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the area of terrorism and political violence research, and conceived by Dr Samuel Justin Sinclair, with the assistance of Dr Alice LoCicero, Dr Michael Commons, and Dr Sarah Ross.
Enhance knowledge and understanding of terrorism and political violence; encourage research that includes and integrates theoretical frameworks and findings from multiple disciplines, thus informing more effective policies worldwide by giving the ability to reflect diverse models of complex causation; provide a forum to support efforts to coherently communicate substantive additions to knowledge of terrorism and political violence.
