Founded 26 Jan 1999, as European Services Network (ESN), with the political support of Sir Leon Brittan, Vice-President of E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC) and EU Trade Commissioner, within the framework of negotiations relating to T-XT9452 - General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). Replaces U-XJ1925 - European Tradeable Services' Network. Current name adopted in 2001. Original Memorandum of Understanding adopted 21 Oct 1998, updated Oct 2008. EU Transparency Register: 91447653655-65.
