The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1991, when launched by European Commission (EC), following direct cooperation among cities and regions in Member States since 1989. Current phase comes within INTERREG V. Programme closed 2005.


Encourage exchange of information and experience among local authorities and regional authorities of the European Union.
