History
Founded 27 Feb 1973, Geneva (Switzerland), at Constituent Assembly, under the initiative of a committee which met for the first time 22 Sep 1971, Paris (France). Original title: International Association for the Study of Insurance Economics (Geneva Association) -- Association internationale pour l'étude de l'économie de l'assurance (Association de Genève) -- Asociación Internacional para el Estudio de la Economia del Seguro (Asociación de Ginebra) -- Internationale Vereinigung für das Studium der Versicherungswirtschaft (Genfer Vereinigung). Commenced operations 1 June 1973.
Aims
Detect early ideas and emerging debates on political, economic and societal issues concerning the industry, notably financial stability and regulation, extreme events and climate risk, and global ageing; inspire and initiate further research into and analysis of such issues; organize debates; disseminate research results and analysis and push underlying ideas among clearly defined target groups.
