1997

History

Founded following the 1st Pan-African Malaria Conference. Previously based at: G-XG4790 - Wellcome Trust (1997-1999); G-XN3596 - John E Fogarty International Center (FIC) (1999-2001); Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden (2003-2005). Since Jan 2006, based at: F-XF4609 - African Malaria Network Trust (AMANET).

Aims

Develop sustainable malaria research capacity in Africa; promote communication and cooperation between organizations and individuals concerned with malaria; ensure research findings are applied to malaria treatment and control; raise international public awareness of the problem of malaria.
