Jun 1994, on approval by Executive Council of: F-XF2152 - European Science Foundation (ESF). Duration 1994-1997. Came within the framework of ESF's: U-XE2478 - Standing Committee on Life and Environmental Sciences (LESC). Ceased to exist. Following its work, F-XF4718 - Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities (CETAF) was set up.
Address issues such as biodiversity and taxonomy which are of current scientific and public importance; link the work of several existing projects into a coherent European initiative and provide a platform for European relations with similar activity in North America.
