History
Jan 1990, within the framework of D-XD4238 - Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) under the agreement T-XT7163 - Nordic Cultural Cooperation, taking over the activities of U-XE0341 - Committee for Nordic Feature Film, which was abolished 1 Jan 1989. Statutes adopted 28 Feb 1990. Also referred to as Steering Committee on Culture and the Mass Media - Styringsgruppen for Kultur og Massemedier and Nordic Steering Group for Culture and Media Cooperation. Ceased to exist in 2006.
Aims
Coordinate media policy among Nordic countries and in relation to other international organizations in the field; serve as an advisory body to the NMR in the field of media and cultural cooperation; promote information and exchange of experience on developments in the field in the Nordic countries and internationally; initiate projects, experiments, seminars and conferences to promote Nordic cooperation in the field of mass communication.
