25 Dec 1800, Poitiers (France), by Joseph Coudrin and Henriette Aymer de la Chevalerie. A Congregation of men and women, with a religious branch for each and a separate secular branch. Women's religious branch is R-XR6929 - Picpus Sisters. Approved by Pius VII in 1817. Full name: Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and of Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament of Altar -- Congrégation des Sacrés-Coeurs de Jésus et de Marie et de l'Adoration Perpétuelle du Très Saint Sacrement de l'Autel. Also referred to as Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and Perpetual Adoration (SSCC) -- Congrégation des Sacrés-Coeurs et de l'Adoration Perpetuelle -- Congregazione dei Sacri Cuori e dell'Adorazione Perpetua and by acronym SS CC.

Contemplate, live and proclaim, as an international apostolic Congregation, the world of God's love; carry on all kinds of apostolates, especially among the poor.
