Aims

Promote and advance science and practice of road engineering and related professions; facilitate intra-regional transfer of technology; cooperate with national and international organizations to support and implement their work; provide a catalyst for future developments and activities; establish better inter-functional links between road planners, designers, construction engineers, technologists, manufacturers and various other services and traders associated with road engineering; act as a regional focal point and information service centre.

Conducts international conferences; facilitates specialist seminars, workshops and training courses; organizes technical visits and highway study tours; encourages information exchange directly through professional networking; administers the Katahira Fund, which will be used exclusively for awards for technical papers.
