1970, Innsbruck (Austria), as an informal gathering of national committees for the apostolate of the laity in Europe. Also referred to as European Lay Forum.
Aims
Facilitate the exchange of experiences and information between members on questions of European importance, especially in relation to problems concerning the Church's mission in the world and pastoral work; maintain contacts and enhance cooperation with Church organizations on European and international levels; maintain contact with, cooperate with or address analyses or motions to the European, national or community authorities, civil and political organizations, and public opinion, for the promotion of christian values.
