The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

12 Sep 1992, Warsaw (Poland), at founding meeting, by International Organization for Unification of Terminological Neologisms (IOUTN). Registered in accordance with Polish law. From Sep 2002, International Specialized Terminology Organization (ISTO) comprises the combined IOUTN and IFTB.

Aims

Sponsor and facilitate formation of terminology centres and collections worldwide, especially in developing countries; provide information and enable exchange of terminological data and resources; represent member banks, centres and collections with governmental and nongovernmental organizations.

Branch Committees (11): Chemistry; Ecology and Environment Protection; Informatics; Legal-Economic; Aviation and Astronautics; Nuclear Energy; Medicine-Pharmacy; Food and Nutrition; International Terminology; Linguistic Terminology; Standardized Terminology. Together with IOUTN, responsible for World Forum for Rapprochement of Nations, Races and Religions Through Terminology (WFRNRRTT).
