The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1949, London (UK), during 14th International Veterinary Congress, as International Women's Auxiliary to the Veterinary Profession (IWA) -- Association internationale des femmes de vétérinaires -- Asociación Internacional de Señoras de Médicos Veterinarios (AIEMV). Current title adopted 1987, Montréal (Canada), when spouses of women veterinarians were accepted as members. As of 2009, ceased to exist.

Aims

Develop the prestige of the veterinary profession; unite spouses of those in the veterinary profession in a feeling of friendship and mutual aid; exchange hospitality, with particular emphasis on youth exchange; work in the cause of peace.

Activities

Loan fund for veterinary students; hospitality and youth exchange programmes provides hospitality for visitors from other countries and allow young people in veterinary families to visit other countries and practice another language.
