Until 1946 functioned as Youth Section (with a separate Executive Committee and Secretariat) of B-XB3594 - World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations (WUCWO). Became entirely independent in 1947. Statutes changed in 1956 so that international as well as national organizations could be accepted as members. Ceased to exist, 25 Apr 1968, Berlin West (Germany FR), when amalgamated with H-XH2654 - International Catholic Youth Federation (ICYF), which was derived from H-XH2657 - International Bureau of Catholic Youth, to form H-XH3517 - World Federation of Catholic Youth (WFCY). Forerunner to C-XC3960 - International Federation of Catholic Parochial Youth Movements.
