History
3 Feb 1991, Taiwan, on formal inauguration, following work of Taiwan chapter/organizing committee set up 1990. Comes within the framework of U-XG5782 - International Buddhist Progress Society (IBPS).
Aims
Follow and propagate the Buddha's teaching; venerate the triple gems, abide by Buddhist precepts, harmonize the five vehicles, practice the three teachings and perfect human character; promote living, dynamic Buddhism; work for the welfare and awakening of the world; facilitate communications and activities among Buddhist lay people worldwide; provide them with an opportunity to sponsor spiritual activities, purify the human mind, fulfil individual human potential and establish Buddha's 'Light Pure Land' on earth; answer human need and actualize the humanistic Buddhist approach of benevolence and compassion to all by bringing Buddhism to the masses across national boundaries.
