5 Sep 1978, Paris (France), at 1st General Assembly, meetings having been held: 12 Mar 1977, Paris, 28 Sep 1977, Dublin (Ireland); 1 Apr 1978, Paris. Registered in accordance with French law. Ceased to exist 31 Dec 2004, when merged with H-XD7266 - Confederation of European National Societies of Anaesthesiologists (CENSA) into D-XD3312 - European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC).

Aims

Take all necessary measures required to raise the scientific standards of anaesthesiology, including training programmes, clinical instruction courses and ensuring proficiency of completion of training; encourage and direct research in anaesthesiology; promote exchanges between anaesthesiologists and those from other disciplines; advise relevant European bodies on all matters and problems relating to anaesthesiology.
