History
15 Apr 1998, by resolution 1159 (1998), 27 Mar 1998, of E-XE3376 - United Nations Security Council (UNSC), as part of United Nations Peace-keeping Operations, within F-XF1000 - United Nations System, in the framework of A-XA3375 - United Nations (UN). Replaced U-XJ3988 - Inter-African Mission to Monitor the Implementation of the Bangui Agreements, founded 25 Jan 1997. Initial mandate extended to Feb 2000, being gradually phased out to ensure short and gradual transition from UN peacekeeping to a post-conflict peace-building presence. Ceased to exist, 15 Feb 2000, when mandate completed and activities taken over by United Nations Peace-Building Support Office in the Central African Republic (BONUCA).
