Mar 1991, Barcelona (Spain), when the European Theatre Union -- Union du théâtre européen -- Unión Teatral Europea was institutionalized.
Aims
Promote the European Community of theatre; carry out scientific studies and research on theatre within the new Europe, without internal borders and open to other cultures; develop a research programme to study the artistic forms of European theatre; enable delegates to visit theatres on all continents, establishing cooperative links among professors and researchers, students and artists of the theatre community.
