History

29 May 1981, by resolution of the Assembly of Governors of Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). Commenced operations July 1981. Closed down after fulfillment of its objectives, through resolution DI-104/98, 1 July 1998.

Aims

Finance interbank clearing operations related to the financing of trade among member countries of CABEI.

FCMC is independent from the general net worth of CABEI; it finances unpaid balances derived from intraregional transactions reflected on the settlement of Central American Clearing House (CACH).
