Provide the populations of developing countries with the means of participating in economic and social development; extend to these countries the experience and values to allow cooperative banks to play a key role in the efforts of Western society; base activities on mutualist principles so as to reach the most deprived populations; apply these principles to the particular situation in each country so as to allow the population to take in hand their own development by creating their own savings and credit networks and to promote access to credit for the most deprived; study problems of microfinancing of economic and social activities and of adapting cooperative banking systems to African society.
