History
Founded at a meeting of over 60 influential representatives of Christian organizations from Japan and world wide, when International Christian University Board of Trustees and Board of Councillors were established. Fundamental policies adopted 15 Jun 1949. First students accepted Apr 1953. Set up following efforts of Japanese Christians and of representatives of the Foreign Missions Conference of North America and visit of US Mission on Education to Japan, 1946. USA fund-raising involvement through G-XN2156 - Japan International Christian University Foundation (JICUF), New York NY (USA).
Aims
Foster an international exchange of ideas, persons and educational opportunities as the precursors of greater cross-cultural understanding, respect and cooperation.
