Aims

Serve the European region as a source of technical expertise, offering scientific support for the identification of effective evidence-based environmental and health policies; participate in partnerships in the European environment and health process by providing technical expertise in environmental health areas.

Assesses the health impacts of different sectors' policies and developing strategies to alleviate any detrimental effects; tackles risks to health stemming from unsustainable exploitation, degradation or pollution of the environment through review of new evidence; advocates for health into environment and development policies. Main work areas: air quality; environmental health indicators; noise and health; housing and health; occupational health; environmental health assessment and management; water and sanitation; climate change; sustainable development and green health services; chemical safety.
