The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Apr 1996, on merger of H-XD2825 - European Association of Organizations for Home Care and Help at Home (EAO), set up 15 Jun 1990, Brussels (Belgium), and H-XC1745 - International Council of Homehelp Services (ICHS), set up 12 May 1959, Woudschoten (Netherlands), following decision of the two merged organizations, 1994. Ceased to exist.

Aims

Support the right of individuals - the sick, elderly and disabled - to receive the help and care they need in order to remain safely and in dignity within their own homes; support development of professional services of homecare and homehelp in both member and other countries; inform on, promote and improve the services on offer; lobby for adoption of a joint European approach in this area and influence political decision-making; support innovative projects which contribute to future development in the field; while focusing on EU countries, be oriented on the global perspective.
