Aims
Initiate, promote and act as a forum for exchange of interdisciplinary environmental knowledge and information among environmental experts, administrators, industry, research and the public so as to support sustainable development from an environmental perspective; emphasize equal cooperation among environmental experts and the business world, whether North-South or East-West; work to avoid pollution of the environment; promote cross-border environmental protection, initiate cross-border research projects and encourage, initiate and publish international research programmes; develop integrative strategies; act as a principal organizer of the annual conference series EnviroInfo within the Technical Committee "Environmental Informatics - Informatics for Environmental Protection, Sustainable Development and Risk Management".
