The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

26 Feb 1966, Washington DC (USA), under the auspices of International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC). Headquarters Agreement signed 21 Feb 1967, Brussels (Belgium), entered into force 30 Dec 1970. Statutes registered in 'UNTS 1/11190'. Closed down 30 Apr 1994.

Aims

Increase throughout the world the consumption of raw cotton, including extra long staple types, and the products manufactured therefrom; investigate the problems and possibilities of cotton market development and disseminate information on such problems and possibilities; develop and carry out cotton market development programs through utilization research, market research, sales promotion, education, and public relations in light of the requirements of the market and the existing facilities for these types of work.
