Establish and promote the authentic history of the Knights Templar era; provide mechanisms to support exchange of research results and encourage inter-linking, preservation of, and access to, historical Knights Templar sites across Europe; liaise with individuals and organizations investigating the contribution of the Templars to late mediaeval European culture; promote closer cooperation and dissemination of results; develop techniques, particularly using information and communications technology, for coordination and dissemination of Knights Templar research pertaining especially to the common pan-European heritage.
