20 Dec 1971, Paris (France), as the first national organization with the title Médecins sans frontières (MSF), first steps having been taken in 1968 during the Biafra crisis and during solidarity appeal following floods in East Pakistan, 1970. International bureau set up, 1991, Brussels (Belgium), to link national MSF sections. Currently registered mainly of doctors and health sector workers and is also open to all other in accordance with the Swiss Civil Code.
Deliver emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
