The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).
Founded
1991-01
History
Jan 1991, within the framework of E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), for a period of 4 years. Promoted by the continuing vocational training administrative unit of U-XF1695 - Task Force for Human Resources, Education, Training and Youth of the European Commission (TF-HRETY). From 1993, operated in synergy with U-XF1311 - EUROTECNET. Ceased to exist as from 1 Jan 1995, when combined with EUROTECNET, U-XF1087 - PETRA and IRIS - European Network of Training Schemes for Women, into one large Community basic and continuing training programme: U-XF3432 - LEONARDO DA VINCI. IRIS is now an independent association, U-XF1254 - IRIS Association.
Aims
Focus on policy development, innovation and exchange of experience regarding continuing vocational training, combining a series of commitments of EC member states to achieve common targets to promote continuing vocational training and wider access to training, accompanied by development of transnational projects supported at Community level.
