The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Set up within the framework of European Science Foundation (ESF). Ceased to exist when replaced by Scientific Review Group on Humanities.

Aims

Encourage interdisciplinary work through the independent evaluation of collaborative research proposals emanating from the scholarly community; identify priority research areas and play an integrative and coordinating role by creating links between research communities which in the humanities are often small and fragmented; contribute to the development of the ESF science policy agenda and provide expert advice on science policy actions at the European level in the field of its responsibilities.
