The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

as International Cooperation in Biomass Energy, by agreement between European Commission (EC) and Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), administered through ASEAN Sub Committee on Non-Conventional Energy Research (SCNCER). COGEN 3 was operated from Jan 2002 to Dec 2004.

Aims

As an economic cooperation programme between the European Union and ASEAN, accelerate implementation of proven heat generating and/or power generating technology through partnership between European and ASEAN companies.

Activities

Offers pre-investment study service to ASEAN companies which use or intend to use biomass residues for energy purposes. Makes funds available for investing in full scale demonstration projects, with parallel: sectoral market studies; information dissemination; industrial tours (ASEAN and Europe); seminars and conferences; training workshops.
