The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).




Founded 1993, by a small group of business persons, when registered in accordance with the law of Ghana. Also referred to as The Enterprise Network. As of 2003, ceased to exist.


As an organizational model for the African private sector, play a catalytic role in national and regional business environments; use strategic management tools to analyse the internal and external business environment; improve the business climate in member countries and promote cross-border trade and investment in West Africa by: improving dialogue between the state and the private sector; facilitating the creation of financial instruments adapted to the needs of private enterprises; improving the competitiveness of West African products; promoting national entrepreneurship.

General Assembly of Members (every 2 years). Assembly of Coordinators, consisted of coordinators of the 13 National Networks and heads of the 4 Professional Sub-Networks. Executive Committee, comprised 3 members, including at least one member from a French- and one from an English-speaking country. Permanent Secretariat was in Accra (Ghana), including Executive Secretary, Administrative Director and Trade Information Coordinator. Regional Trade Information Centre. New investment instruments included U-XK1326 - West African Enterprise Fund. Professional sub-networks: NETFORCE - auditing and accounting firms; NETFINANCE - representatives from the financial service firms, merchant banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms; NETRANSLOG - West African transporters. Sub-networks being set up: NETINFOTECH - professionals working in new technology and telecommunications; NETOUR - tour operators and members in the tourism industry; AGRINET - manufacturers in the farm and food industry; LAWNET - French- and English-speaking lawyers and others in the legal profession; NETCONSULT - members into consulting.
