Aims

Encourage formation of national manufacturers associations in West African countries; promote and sustain a permanent link between associations of manufacturers and related sectoral organizations in the sub-region; provide a forum for manufacturers for formulating, making known and influencing general policy with regard to industrial, labour, social, legal, training and technical matters; contribute to increased production of and trade in manufactured goods and to free mobility of goods throughout the sub-region; search, identify and harness local sources of raw materials for processing and industrial utilization; develop and promote industrialization and contribution of manufacturers to their national economies and to the sub-region through: exhibitions displaying technological advances in development of raw material, representation on all bodies affecting manufacturers' interests, information and advice to ensure high quality products, promoting complementary links among industrial enterprises to enhance comparative advantages of national resource endowments; encourage development, transfer and utilization of indigenous and appropriate technology; promote intergovernmental cooperation to facilitate provision of inter-territorial infrastructure; contribute effectively to real integration of the economies of West African States within the framework of ECOWAS.
