History
1962, Brussels (Belgium), as Institut européen de cancérologie (INEC), previously, from 1959, having existed as a Belgian national association. Present title adopted 8 Jun 1972, when registered under Belgian law. Statutes adopted 14 Feb 1975. Ceased to exist on death of Dr Emile-Gaston Peeters. Wound up and all Belgian association contact with the organization withdrawn, 24 Feb 1993.
Aims
Promote disciplines concerned with causes and effects of ecological damage and environmental pollution; study prevention of such effects through harmonious adaptation and protection of nature; promote disciplines concerned with cancerology as it affects both human beings and the animal and vegetable worlds, particularly in the context of the relations between the environment and cancer (geocancerology).
