Founded Jun 1974, Copenhagen (Denmark), at a conference of B-XB1749 - International Council of Museums (ICOM), with support from the F-XF0369 - Commonwealth Foundation (CF). Registered in accordance with Canadian law.
Aims
Focus on postcolonial museology, human rights and social justice; maintain and strengthen links between members of the museum profession within the Commonwealth; encourage and assist members to obtain additional training and experience by a distance learning programme and other means, and to attend appropriate seminars and conferences; encourage establishment of regional museum associations.
