The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).




6 May 1955, as Permanent Conference for Planned Development of Regions in North-West Europe. Constitution adopted 13 Mar 1959, Liège (Belgium); modified 28 Oct 1994. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. Ceased activities end 1999.


Encourage and develop regional studies; harmonize and coordinate such studies within the area of: the Benelux countries; the French 'régions' - Nord, Picardy, Champagne, Lorraine and Alsace; the German 'Länder' - Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland and Baden-Württemberg; and the English counties Kent, East Sussex and South East England (SERPLAN), as an aid to regional planning in a European framework.
