History
Founded following the activities of the S-XS0171 - International Symposium on Society and Resource Management (ISSRM) conference series. Upon its creation, IASNR took over responsibility for the events.
The ISSRM entry in this Yearbook describes the events from 1986-2001, the editions under IASNR responsibility are listed here. In 2020 the event name was changed to IASNR Conference.
Aims
Foster interdisciplinary social scientific understanding of the relationships between humans and natural resources; further the application of social science information in natural resource decision-making; provide a mechanism for dialogue and information exchange.
